"Look at that sea, girls--all silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn't enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds."

OH MY GOSH! I can't believe I forgot to tell you about this. You should totally use Christina's kitchen and make some of these. They are super easy, you can just put them in the oven while you guys run!!!!

They are my new favorite snack. I'm going to make a few batches of them tonight so that I can snack on them throughout the week.

Roasted Chickpeas
  • 1 (12 ounce) can chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt (optional) - I used it!!
  • garlic salt (optional) - I used this also
  • cayenne pepper (optional) - I substituted black pepper for this
1.     Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
2.     Blot chickpeas with a paper towel to dry them. In a bowl, toss chickpeas with olive oil, and season to taste with salt, garlic salt, and cayenne pepper, if using. Spread on a baking sheet, and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until browned and crunchy. Watch carefully the last few minutes to avoid burning.

I cooked these for 30 minutes exactly and they were perfect. I think that you could change it up pretty easily too! I thought about maybe using a little ranch dressing mix on the beans or maybe even taco seasoning to make different flavors. I'll try them out tonight and let you know how it goes!

  1. Those sound so delicious! Do they have to be refrigerated? I'm guessing yes...

  2. I don't refidgerate! I put them in a ziploc and they were fine! They come out pretty crunchy like chips or crackers almost.
