The internet is annoying. Why can’t anyone tell me how many calories we burn? Rude!!!!
I was talking to Josh's aunt this morning about how sore I was and the lady who sits next to her asked about what workout I was doing and I told her. She was asking me all these questions about it while she was sitting eating a sausage mcmuffin!! It made me want to get to the closest McDonalds ASAP! But I will be strong!! She's done eating it but the smell is lingering.....sigh.
Running last night was tough. I'm not sure if I had a sideache or oblique soreness but it did not make breathing easy!
So today I'm going to talk about eating!!! When I exercise a lot (like we're doing) I get even hungrier than normal so I used our trusty friend Google to figure out what foods are best for you when you're trying to tone, especially your stomach.
1. Eggs- This is wonderful because I love eggs! I need to start hardboiling some every week for snacks!
2. Beans- The best kinds are navy, white, kidney and lima beans. They say to stay away from baked and refied beans (aka. the good ones).
3. Oatmeal- Yay!!!!!!!!! I love oatmeal!! I get the packet ones where you just add water and microwave, maple and cinnamon are my favorites. You could probably make oatmeal too, even in the dorms, with the easy packets!
4. Olive oil- I hope they mean to cook with. I will not be snacking on just olive oil....
5. Whole grains- I need to work on this. When I have carb cravings they're usually white and processed.
6. Lean meat- They recommend especially salmon and tuna. I love salmon! My favorite meal lately is salmon patties. You need to borrow someone's kitchen and try the recipe, its amazing! Even Josh likes it and he says he doesn't like seafood. Mwahaha.
7. Popcorn, Almonds, Peanut Butter and Fruit Smoothies- These are the most tummy flattening snacks! I make myself eat almonds even though I find them disgusting by themselves lol.
Also it's recommended that you don't eat for at least 3 hours before bed. I'm going to try to implement that right away!!! And drink LOTS of water. I've been doing horribly on drinking lots of water but I have my water bottle full today!
Hopefully these suggestions help! There are probably some things that you can even get to snack on in your dorm room.
I'm really worried about tonight...we're having a Survivor kick off party at Josh's dad's house tonight. His aunt is making fried chicken, fried eggplant, rolls and this heath bar dessert!! His dad is making macaroni salad, someone is bringing pasta salad and I'm making pizza dip and cinnamon popcorn! :( I'm really going to try to limit myself and eat small portions!! The good news is that I brought us workout clothes, the video and our weights so we are going to do our workout at his dad's house before everyone gets there!!!

I know! I guess the only way to figure out how much we burnt is to go one by one through each exercise and calculate. That is WAY too much work though. I'm just going to trust the fact that I feel sore and my muscles already feel more tight and stronger.
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious!!! Mmm sausage mcmuffin. I am such a sucker for fast food. It's awful! I know so many girls who are like ' I would never eat fast food its so gross blah blah blah.' I know they're lying. Would would ever say that bunch of lovely fries are gross??? lol I need to keep my distance though. It's always so tempting though because it's cheap. At least I can rely on Taco Bell's Fresco Menu!!
Now for the food:
1) The eggs they serve in the cafeteria come from like a fake mix. SO gross. But the salad bar has hard boiled eggs which I like to get! I am going to remember to eat them everyday! They're good protein! (especially since I don't eat milk products)
2)BEANS!!!! I love them. But you know that. haha. I like pinto beans the best when they are not refried...they are so good straight out of the can. Just warm them up on the stove, add a pinch of salt. I wonder if those are okay. I will have to look.
3) YAY! At least I'm doing something right! I have an electric kettle in my room, so every morning I heat up water and make oatmeal and tea! My mom always makes us eat it for breakfast at home. She says "it sticks to your rubs." Haha. It makes me stay full longer, so I don't snack in the morning. I buy those packets too...they have lower sugar ones. Have you seen those? Buuuut the best thing to do would be to get a canister of plain oatmeal and use that. That's what my mom does, then she adds a little ground cinnamon(which is good for your heart). Its cheaper and has less sugar that way.
4) I agree! no drinking straight olive oil! LOL
5)Whole grains...yeah...umm...let's just say I need to work on that too.
6)I love tuna and salmon! but not in the cafeteria...can you imagine?? ew!
7)I love that the most tummy flattening snacks are the ones I actually really want to eat! Except almonds. They are so dry!! but I think all you need is a handful anyhow...we can manage that!!!
I hope you are staying strong at the party!!! That sounds like a huge danger zone! but it also sounds soooo delicious!! Don't worry though, I had some of those darn cookies my roommate introduced to me too. They are like the girl scout cookies called samoas I think. Speaking of that, I told a little girl today I didn't want to buy her girl scout cookies. haha. I felt bad. but I WILL NOT be tempted!!!! LOL
